November 2025: An Entrepreneur's Guide to Intellectual Property

Following the RIDE Center’s Invention Sprint, Dr. Leigh Estabrooks led a standing‐room‐only session focused on the strategic importance of protecting intellectual property as inventions and businesses move toward market readiness.

Students examined key forms of intellectual property protection including trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, and patents, gaining practical insight into safeguarding and advancing their entrepreneurial ideas. Select Invention Sprint teams continue to work with Dr. Estabrooks on provisional patent submissions and next steps for the early‐stage commercialization of their adaptive medical device.
